This 2 day RYA Powerboat practical course is aimed at superyacht crew, needing to transfer clients from ship to shore, operating a powerboat by day or night with responsibility for carrying passengers. The course includes plenty of time to practice working with a crew member and operating short-handed.
Candidates will practice and become familiar with pilotage for short passages from ship to shore, both day and night.
Course content
The course covers the practical use of pilotage and boat handling by day and night using both traditional and electronic navigational techniques. It teaches you the techniques required to plan and complete a short coastal passage between a yacht and shore.
This course is intended to build on a candidate's basic powerboating knowledge and skills. Attendees will gain confidence in their ability to manoeuvre a powerboat more smoothly. The emphasis is on learning important skills in day and night pilotage and passenger carriage and management.
This course is available as 2 consecutive days.

Ability after the course
