Course content

This is the course you need to master the art of effective navigation during pilotage. We will teach you advanced navigational techniques, as well as acquainted with pilotage planning and smart tactical techniques for close quarter navigation. After you have participated in this course, you will be equipped with a solid understanding and knowledge of how to deal with difficult and demanding navigational areas.

• Pilotage strategies
• Developing a pilotage plan
• Handling hazardous areas
• Safe passage making in darkness
• Blind navigation
• Recognising lights on ships, buoys and ashore
• Navigation tools and equipment
• Position fixing and collision avoidance
• Passage planning
