What should I bring with me when joining a practical sail cruising training course ?

 Do I need any specialised equipment?

No. All safety equipment and lifejackets can be found on board. Some people like to bring their own materials such as a PLB. Please feel free to bring any equipment that you prefer, but make sure all safety materials are professionally serviced and in date.

Do I need to bring any food supplies?

No. All food and drink is provided during your course apart from eating ashore. If you have any special requests or dietary requirements, please let us know prior to the course.

So what do I need to bring?

You will need to bring;

• Your personal RYA Syllabus/logbook (if you have one already; otherwise we will give you one)
• Pre-course knowledge quiz certificate
• Downloaded and completed Health Declaration Forms
• Duvet cover (size approximate 140 x 200 cm) or sleeping bag
• Pillow case (size 60 x 70 cm)
• Towel
• Water bottle
• Passport or ID card
• Sunscreen and sunglasses
• Any medication you are taking for the duration of the course
• And a sense of humour 😉

Make sure to properly protect your electronics (phone, tablet, camera etc), and please use soft bags to pack your clothing and personal gear.

Suitcases and hard travel bags are not welcome on board.
